Dedicating your birthday – whether you’re turning 16 or 50 – is a fun way to celebrate and show your support to Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
Setting up a celebration page is easy, simply follow these 5 steps!
Step 1 – Head to TeamRoswell.org to sign up your event
It’s as easy as clicking here! The quick, step-by-step process will have your celebration event registered and ready for donations in no time.
Step 2 – Personalize your Fundraising Dashboard
Engage your networks and encourage them to donate. By adding a personal story to your fundraising profile, you can show donors that you are dedicated to the cause – and they will be more likely to donate to your efforts. This is a great way to let people know why you’re dedicating your special day to Roswell Park. Are you fundraising to honor a family member or friend, or to help in any way you can?
And don’t forget to update your profile picture so your supporters feel more connected to both you and the cause. You’ll earn a badge to show off, too!
Step 3 – Share on Social Media
Share your story on social media so friends and family know why you’re celebrating your birthday with Team Roswell! Posting on social media is one of the easiest and most effective ways to fundraise. Did you know that 90% of all social media donations come from Facebook?
When posting, don’t forget to include a link to your fundraising page so everyone is able to easily donate! Throw us a like while you’re at it!
Step 4 – Go the Extra Mile
If you’re holding an actual party, there are tons of fun ways to raise additional funds for your cause! Make sure to have a section of your party designated for a donation box, so guests can give in lieu of gifts.
Holding a small basket raffle or a 50/50 raffle is also a great way to raise extra funds – and your guests will win too!
Don’t forget to collect the cans from your party and recycle them after. It’s amazing how far 5 cents can go!
Step 5 – Say thank you!
This might be the most important step to celebrating your birthday with Team Roswell. Be sure to say thank you to your supporters and those who helped you celebrate by donating.
Going back to social media – a nice touch to a thank you is tagging someone in a shout out on Facebook.
Some of your guests might also appreciate a handwritten note expressing your gratitude. Reach out to a Team Roswell staff member for some thank you cards. We would be happy to mail you some!
